Our research focuses on how we experience touch. In particular, it focuses on the complex multisensory mechanisms that allow us to extract spatial information from touch using information about posture, and explains how this is used to construct representations of our body and to guide our actions. A second line of research focuses on the role that prior visual, proprioceptive and tactile information have in the perception of tactile and visual events. We combine psychophysics, electro– and magnetoencephalography to identify the behavioural and neural correlates of these phenomena.
