Senior Research Scientist at the Special Lab Molecular Biology Techniques at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology Magdeburg
To get more insights into molecular mechanisms underlying long-term neuronal plasticity my research activities are mainly focusing on (i) identification and characterization of synaptic proteomes and (ii) the analyses of proteomic changes related to synaptic plasticity. In particular, synapse proteome dynamics in rodents after long-term memory formation, after pharmacological treatments or in pathophysiological conditions are the major topics of recent and ongoing projects. Further research activities include the exploration of interacting proteins for the neuronal cell recognition molecule neuroplastin in order to get a better understanding of its functional role in neuronal plasticity.
