21.-22.06.2021 – Workshop on Publication Strategies

The cbbs gp offered a Workshop on “publication strategies”, according to the needs of the cbbs gp members. 20 PhD students and postdocs joined our two day online workshop on publication strategies.

On the first day, the participants met Prof. Dr. Constanze Seidenbecher (LIN), Prof. Dr. Markus Ullsperger (OVGU) and Dr. Matthew Betts (DZNE). After an introduction, a very interactive workshop started adressing the questions like “How should I publish?”, “Why should I publish?”, “How to find the right journal to publish?”, “How do reviewers work?”, “How important is open access publishing?”, “Are preprint servers recommendable?” and “How to raise the chances to publish?”.

On the second day, Dr. Daniel Klimmeck working as senior editor at The EMBO Journal reported on EMBO and the usual methods of publishing. He shed light on dos and don`ts when publishing in EMBO Journal and was answering many questions in a very relaxed atmosphere.
