worked as a scientist at Philips Research Labs Aachen between 1995-2001 in Speech Processing and Man-Machine interfaces. Since 2001 he is Professor of Cognitive Systems (www.cogsy.de). He was PI and Co-Speaker of the SFB-TRR 62 “A Companion Technology for Cognitive Technical Systems” from 2009-2017, in addition to numerous ongoing BMBF, DFG and EU funded projects. In the CBBS, he stands for translational research into anthropomorphic future areas of information technology, including Speech and Emotion Recognition, Cognitive Neuro-inspired Systems, Affective Computing.
