My work aims to investigate the functional relevance of neural oscillation patterns in the context of speech processing. In the present project, I focus on developmental dyslexia (DD), a neuropsychological disorder, that has been suggested to rely on altered oscillation patterns in the auditory cortex, which, in turn, hinder the accurate perception of linguistically meaningful information units in the speech signal. By means of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, I strive no normalize these deficient neural oscillations in individuals suffering from DD in order to restore auditory processing and, finally, to facilitate the acquisition of reading and writing skills.
