By means of signal analysis techniques we identify and remove artefacts in electrophysiological signals and quantify electrophysiological signals with respect to basic neuroscience and clinical applications. We apply various connectivity analysis methods (transfer entropy, Granger causality, phase amplitude coupling) to characterize neural network based on invasive and surface electropyhsiological recordings. Modulation of neural activity by deep brain stimulation is evaluated by linear and non-linear analysis techniques. Recently we started the development of new EEG recording concepts and techniques to alleviate patient monitoring at home.
