At the 23rd of January, the Magdeburg International PhD Students MIPS will visit the “Gedenkstätte Moritzplatz Magdeburg”. From 1945 until 1989, the building of the memorial centre was used as a prison by the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) during the time of Soviet Occupation and the GDR (DDR). The memorial center focusses on the remembrance of victims of political persecution. Apart from that, persons concernced can address the memorial center and can ask for assistance.
